MEET THE BOSS (or Gene Roddenberry was right)

This blog is about introducing you to who your bosses are..... you will have to be somewhat of a Star Trek fan to see the guy's who are running our jobs and society now. Gene Roddenberry has it right about the people in control of the world..... meet the FERENGI'S..... they are the closest thing that you can get to corporate America, and our political leaders as you will ever find. On the show they are short, have big heads, and ears ( that’s so they can keep there fingers on the pulse of their workers and followers), they dress like 70's pimps, and they have a bit of all the races of the world in their personality make-up. They run a draconian society, one where women can not make a profit, and they can not go out in public with clothes on ( I knew I liked these guys for some reason). The bible that they live by ….. the Rules of ACQUISITION. They can and are expected to lie, cheat, and steal to make a profit. This is the very thing that drives their very society. They will try their very best to manipulate you into thinking that you are the greatest worker they ever was, by giving you useless trinkets and pats on the back ( instead of the real thing that you work for and deserve..... money). But just lose them “one penny”, and you will quickly find the only interest they really have at heart, is there own best interest..... does any of this sound familiar ….. it should..... It starts at the top with the leader..... THE GRAND NAGUS..... he is the head of the ultimate old boy network that has been in place for thousands of years. Every great society had been brought down by this group of people..... I don't want you to get the idea that they are the only people guilty of being a Ferengi …... because their last rule is..... “deep down WE ARE ALL FERENGI'S”, this is the biggest reason why we find ourselves making low pay and with no benefits ( and we do most of the work).
At the end of this blog I will post some of the RULES OF ACQUISITON,,,,, a lot of them you will recognize from work, a lot from just life, but for now ….. MEET THE NEW BOSS..... SAME AS THE OLD BOSS.....

Ferengi Rules of Acquisition

Once you have their money, you never give it back.
Never spend more for an acquisition than you have to.
Never allow family to stand in the way of opportunity.
Keep your ears open.
Opportunity plus instinct equals profit.
Greed is eternal.
A deal is a deal.
A contract is a contract is a contract ... but only between Ferengi.
A Ferengi without profit is no Ferengi at all.
Never place friendship above profit.
A wise man can hear profit in the wind.
Nothing is more important than your health ... except for your money.
Never make fun of a Ferengi's mother.
It never hurts to suck up to the boss.
War is good for business
Peace is good for business.
Expand or die.
Never trust a man wearing a better suit than your own.
The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife.
Good customers are as rare as latinum. Treasure them.
Free advice is seldom cheap.
The riskier the road, the greater the profit.
Knowledge equals profit.
Home is where the heart is, but the stars are made of latinum.
Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies.
Females and finances don't mix.
Expand or die.
Every man has his price.
Nature decays, but latinum lasts forever.
Sleep can interfere with...
Dignity and an empty sack is worth the sack.
Treat people in your debt like family ... exploit them.
Never have sex with the boss's sister.
You can't make a deal if you're dead.
Wives serve, brothers inherit.
Whisper your way to success.
A man is only worth the sum of his possessions.
Hear all, trust nothing.
It's always good to know about new customers before they walk in your door.
New customers are like razor-toothed gree-worms. They can be succulent, but sometimes they bite back.
Sometimes the only thing more dangerous than a question is an answer.
Employees are the rungs on the ladder of success. Don't hesitate to step on them.
Never begin a negotiation on an empty stomach.
You can't free a fish from water.
(incomplete, but presumably concerned the relationship between "keeping busy" and "being successful")
Latinum lasts longer than lust.
Never be afraid to mislabel a product.
Never allow doubt to tarnish your lust for latinum.
No good deed ever goes unpunished.
The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife
